Our Story
In 2018, NeodenUSA was as small as the garage it started in and was founded on a need that many innovators and manufacturers can relate to. Our founder, Peter Swann, was a hobbyist looking to grow his company and scale production.
In 2017, Peter discovered Neoden’s machines and purchased a Neoden 4 but quickly realized he faced a steep learning curve. Cathy Lee, a young and passionate sales rep working for Neoden in China, helped him immensely.
What started as a business endeavor transformed into a great friendship, grew into trust, and eventually, an opportunity to bring Neoden’s cutting-edge SMT technology to the U.S. market.

When Peter visited Neoden’s factory in Hangzhou, he found the quality of their manufacturing capabilities impressive, but the team of young, eager, and excited engineers inspired him and reminded Peter of himself: they shared an ideal born out of passion and nothing else.
Neoden’s machines weren’t just mass-market products made with shortcuts; every machine was built with care, using high-grade materials and original designs. With their shared passion of creating cool products in the SMT space, Peter jumped at the opportunity to help others realize their visions just as he did.
Partnering with Gil Griffith, an expert in global business marketing, they brought Neoden to the U.S. and transformed NeodenUSA into what it is today: a mission to empower creators, engineers, and businesses of all sizes.
From a makeshift tent in a driveway to our first major sale, we worked tirelessly to prove that NeodenUSA was different. We weren’t just selling machines - we were building a support system. Early on, Peter personally handled all tech support, installations, and troubleshooting calls. When the pandemic disrupted industries worldwide, we doubled down on what mattered most: real, human support.
Norm Schwab, our technical support manager and childhood friend of Peter’s, brought an unrivaled level of technical expertise and customer service. When customers tell us they love our machines, they express that it’s Norm who truly makes the difference. NeodenUSA’s support is a very human experience that matches the family-oriented, human origins of the company.
NeodenUSA has grown immensely since 2017, but our mission remains unchanged.
