Description

Reflow requirements for larger PCBs, especially those with large stack-ups, a greater quantity of foil and thermal sensitive components can be difficult to manage during the reflow process. The IN8C is a precise and easy to configure oven with a comprehensive application for configuring preheat, soak, reflow and cool down stages in addition to conveyor transit speed. The controlled preheat and soak stages ensure that the PCB is brought up to the desired temperature at a controlled rate so there is no chance of thermal overshoot going into the reflow stage. As a result, there are fewer instances of solder splatter or beading that is a primary issue with gap tolerance and that will impact product reliability. Overall reflow times above the melting point are minimized to achieve proper wetting of components to PCB without over saturation. This is achieved using the 8-zone process chamber, 4 independent zones above and 4 independent zones below the conveyor. Each zone is individually configurable so that above - below process temperatures can be varied at each stage if asymmetric control is required.

Proven Technology

This 8-zone oven uses nichrome wire heating elements to maintain even heat distribution for consistent soldering. These elements are fast heating and will be at operational levels in a little as 30 minutes. The cooling zone includes a variable speed quad fan assembly that is isolated from the ambient environment for the best cool-down control. The wide 12.9” process chamber handles larger PCBs with ease while conveyor speeds can be increased up to 23” per minute for high volume, small board requirements.
